The founding members are a group of faculty members from different Egyptian Universities and Institutions: Theodor Bilharz Research Institute, the Egyptian Petroleum Research Institute, Ain Shams university, Assuit university, Mansoura university , Suez Canal university, Zagazig university and Zewail City of Science and Technology. The society was registered by the Ministry of Social Solidarity under No. 6707 on the 29th of October 2019. The headquarters of the Society is Theodor Bilharz Research Institute. The Society is managed by a board of directors made up of 13 members working in the field of life sciences or material science. The initiator of this Society is the Emeritus Prof. Soheir Mansy, the Former Head of Electron Microscopy Research Department and Deputy of Clinical Laboratories Research Division at Theodor Bilharz Research Institute, Ministry of higher Education and Scientific Research. Dear colleagues and friends,

It’s our pleasure to organize the annual conference of the Egyptian Society of Electron Microscopy 2020 with the collaboration of two prestigious scientific institutions, Tanta University and Theodor Bilharz Research Institute. The conference theme is “the electron microscopy and the pandemic COVID 19”. We can’t bypass the COVID 19 outbreak without highlighting the role of Electron microscopy in detecting the virus and its possible impact on the running researches at the level of life science and material sciences.

This year as a result of the continuous impact of COVID 19 pandemic health crisis, we face assembly restriction, for this, we have decided to convert our planned conference into an exciting digital event organized on 11-12 October 2020. The conference will be associated with a workshop on the processing of microorganisms and nanoparticles for EM examination. The performed techniques will be recorded and broadcasted on the 11th  of October to participants.

We are planning an outstanding scientific program with the participation of eminent renowned speakers.  The suppliers of electron microscopes will also present the new technologies implemented in their instruments and applied techniques.

A detailed agenda is posted on the conference website esem-egypt.org , and the invitation for the online 2020 Society Conference will be shared in an appropriate time before the event scheduled date.

We wait for you to take part and to experience this exciting event, as your active contribution will help to drive the instructive goal of the society forward.
