Although The number of Electron microscopists may seem small, but this field of speciality has an immense impact on technology progress. It has produced huge progresses over the course of time and is continuing to influence not only in the clarification of the underlying cause of pandemics or health threating diseases but in various sectors of research and development . Thus, it is important to invest in this field from the point of view technology transfer, expertise, equipment invention and maintenance. ( to decrease the gap between us and the developed countries).

It is important to realize that diagnostic EM is a science, not just a tool, and with this rapid technological development, we need to boost the specialty of electron microscopy and build up specialized staff. Continuously upgrading professionals in this field has become necessary.
Transmission electron microscopy has paramount role before and during infectious disease outbreaks.

The Egyptian Society of Electron Microscopy in its next meeting of Board of Directors will discuss the possibility to offer a series of training and study courses in the field of electron microscopy with the award of an accredited certificate in cooperation with one of our university.
