The founding members are a group of faculty members from different Egyptian Universities and Institutions: Theodor Bilharz Research Institute, the Egyptian Petroleum Research Institute, Ain Shams university, Assuit university, Mansoura university , Suez Canal university, Zagazig university and Zewail City of Science and Technology. The society was registered by the Ministry of Social Solidarity under No. 6707 on the 29th of October 2019. The headquarters of the Society is Theodor Bilharz Research Institute. The Society is managed by a board of directors made up of 13 members working in the field of life sciences or material science. The initiator of this Society is the Emeritus Prof. Soheir Mansy, the Former Head of Electron Microscopy Research Department and Deputy of Clinical Laboratories Research Division at Theodor Bilharz Research Institute, Ministry of higher Education and Scientific Research. The ESEM Conference 2020

 

The Egyptian Society of Electron Microscopy virtual conference 2020 in collaboration with two prestigious Scientific Institutions: Theodor Bilharz Research Institute & Tanta University has been a successful event.  It was under the Auspices of Prof.Wafaa Kandeel the President and Chair of Theodor Bilharz Research Institute, Prof.Emad Etman Acting president of Tanta University, and Prof.Kamal Okasha the vice president of Tanta University. The conference assembled interdisciplinary groups of Professors, from the fields of life sciences and material science. Eminent professors representing many well-known German and Egyptian Universities and Research Institutes.

They exchanged views, shared experiences, discussed challenges concerning the role played by EM in the present covid19 outbreak. This year 311 have registered to share with us this event from many Egyptian Governorates, from Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Kuwait, USA, Cyprus, and Germany.

 Although this virtual conference was a new way for us to hold conferences, yet it was achieved smoothly and perfectly.  Valuable instructive scientific program & showcase exciting new developments in electron microscopy were delivered. The conference was sponsored by Meslo, Thermo fisher and Joel company in Egypt.
